☆A City★

Miki and Emi are going to write about our imaginary city. It’s near to somewhere in beautiful ocean in Japan. The city is called “Town in the sea”. We have three points about the city. Point 1 is about the seaside house. Point 2 is about food in the city. Final point is about riding the dolphins.

First, we’re going to explain point 1: The seaside house. The seaside house is one of the most popular places in the city. However it only opens during summer. Its name is “Ta-dah!” because it has many surprise events and especially the master give you a special present on your birthday! The surprises make everyone happy! The worker in “Ta-dah!” lend you something to play in the sea. For example, they have float rings, surfboards, and beach balls. If you feel low, please come to “Ta-dah!” You will be happy!

Now, we’re going to explain point 2: Food in the city. You can eat good food in “Ta-dah!”. For example, Yakisoba! This yakisoba is strongly seasoned. It’s popular among young people who visit the city. Also, you can eat Okonomiyaki, too! It tastes good. It’s popular with family who come to play in the sea. In addition, there is ramen, too. It’s Tonkotsu ramen. It’s made by a master of ramen. So it tastes fantastic! You will want a second helping. Finally, dessert! There are special shaved ices! We can taste several kinds of shaved ices, there are strawberry taste, bluehawaii taste, melon taste, lemon taste, cola taste and any tastes you want. Also, it is a rest station for visitors. Usually, the master turn on an electric fan in there, but there is not an air conditioner. If you still feel hot, you can use a fan or eat a special shaved ices!

Third, we’re going to explain point 3: Riding the dolphins. You can ride a dolphin’s back there! There are always some trainers of dolphins in “Ta-dah!”. They hold “dolphins’ show” in August so many people visit there to see it because many people spend theirs summer vacation in August. If you want to ride a dolphin, you have to talk to the trainers. They may allow you to ride a dolphin easily! The dolphins are very vigorous so be careful a little of that. You may have a great time if you come to “Ta-dah!” in your summer vacation!!!

In conclusion, a lot of young people, family, friends and couples visit “Town in the sea” every summer. It is a lively place! That why, the town has special points as stated above. It became famous among everyone, so everyone will visit “Town in the sea” this summer, too! Do you have a good time in “Town in the sea” this summer?

EXAMS 2

I took an exam on July 14th. It was Speaking class but it was paper tests and listening tests. Final question was writing any recipi so I wrote about BLT sandwich's recipi.
I took 2 exams on July 15th. They were Reading class and Japanese phonetics class.
We had a lot of words quiz in Reading class but I couldn't answer all of them:(
JP's test was easy because the teacher allowed us to see the text book during the exam.
I've finished some exams but I will take more finals soon!

Famous places in Kumamoto

EXAMS

I took 3 exams on July 9th.

We were asked about United Nations, international relations between America and Japan, ASEAN, and ECFA in first period.
Second period was ALH class. I like this class but I didn't have confidence in exam of it. I couldn't write the meanings of 'grand tour' and 'transcendentalism' on it. After the exam, teacher returned our reports and I became happy then. Teacher wrote some good comments for me on it!
Third period was Listening class. I didn't feel difficult but it was not easy exam!

I will take some exams in this week, so I must study hard from now on!!!

★Little Women

I read "Little Women" written by Louisa May Alcot. It is "Wakakusa-Monogatari" in Japanese.
We learned about Louisa and watched the movie of it on DVD in ALH class.

It is about the March family but this story doesn't finish, there are three stories to continue the Marchs' story--Little Men, Good Wives, and Jo's Boys.

Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy March were sisters and main characters in it. Meg was the oldest and she had big eyes and beautiful long brown hair. Jo loved reading books and she liked writing stories and she was Louisa! Beth was very quiet but she was good at playing the piano. Amy was the youngest and her eyes were blue and her hair was yellow. They didn't have a lot of money but they lived happily with their mother and Hannah who helped Mrs. March in their house. Their father was away in the war so they couldn't see him, though they wanted to see him.
Old Mr. Laurence was their father's friend and he lived near to their house with his grandchild, Laurie. Mr. Laurence gave some presents for the sisters. Especialy, he gave his piano for Beth.
Laurie was their good friend but he liked Jo the best. Amy was unhappy that because she wanted to play with them. Jo was very angry with Amy because Amy burned her stories. Amy said sorry to Jo many times but Jo was still angry. When Amy drawn in cold water, Jo helped her and they became good friends again.

Jo's story was in newspaper because Jo finished writing a story and she took it to an office! Jo didn't tell that to her family. When she read the story for them, they got to like it and they ask her who write it, then she told that she wrote it!!!

Cristmas was special day for them. The first scene and the last scene were Cristmas. Their father came back to their house on second Cristmas! Beth had been bad ill since before Cristmas but she became happy to see her father again and became well!! Mr. Brooke who was Laurie's teacher loved Meg and she decided to get marry with him at the last!!!

Later, Jo talked to Laurie.
"I love Meg, and I want her with me," she said. "But she's going to be happy, and that's good. And I'm happy today. Mother and Father are here. Beth is well again. Meg loves John. Amy and I are friends--and you and I are friends too. I'm writing, and people like my stories. But Laurie, are we going to be happy in a year, or in two years? Who knows?"

The Marchs have many problems but they become happy at the last so I like this story:)
I think it is heart-warming story and I feel family's love from the story.

If you read Wakakusa-Monogatari, you should read Little Women;)
I want to read Little Men next time!

☆Marcel goes to HOLLYWOOD

I read "Marcel goes to HOLLYWOOD". It is like a cartoon so it is very easy to read.

I think it is funny story because main character is mouse!
Marcel is a detective mouse. Celine is his girl friend and she is a painter. They are French mice.
They go to Los Angeles, CA, USA on their summer holiday. Their flat is a small hole in the Waldmans house. Arnold W. is a film director and his wife, Claudia is Italy and their daughter, Lois is 15 years old. The Waldmans are human, of course:)

I think Marcel is a brave and clever mouse!!
One night, Lois is taken to somewhere by kidnappers. Marcel watches that and he wants to help her. The kidnappers telephone Arnold to come the place they are and to bring $1 million, so Marcel and Celine go there with him. He meets the kidnappers but they don't take Lois to there, so the mice stay there with kidnappers. Then they move to a place and there is Lois. After they slept, the mice get their guns and Marcel telephones the police in the bathroom.

"Hello? Police? I don't know the address. There are two kidnappers here. They have a young girl. Her name's Lois Waldman. W-A-L-D-M-A-N."

The police come soon and the kidnappers are arrested. Then the police help Lois and they ask her.

"A child telephoned. Do you know him?" "No, I don't."

she answers.

The police think Marcel is a child because his voice is small and high, I think. Marcel is clever because he gets kidnappers' guns at first in order not to shot them, and he telephones in the bathroom because he knows how small his voice is. By the way, I'm surprised that Marcel can speak English or human's language:o

Finally, the mice watch Lois comes back to her parents. Then the mice swim in the Waldman's pool.

"Happy, Celine?" "Very happy, Marcel." Of course they are happy. It's hot... The sky is blue... And they are in Hollywood!

★Daniel Radcliffe

I read Danniel Radcliffe written by Vicky Shipton. Do you know Dan? He plays Harry Potter. I love Harry Potter and I want to know about Dan so I read this book.

There are many photo of Dan, Emma, and Rupert. They play Harry, Hermione, and Ron. One photo shows they are very young, when they play Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. You can see their growth in other photos.

I could know many things about Dan. His birth day is July 23th in 1989. His father works with writers and his mother works with actors. They don't want Dan to be actor because they know how difficult child actors lives are. However they accept an offer from their friend. The friend want Dan to be in a BBC television series of Dickens's book David Copperfield. This is Dan's first job, and he is only ten at the time. Then he meets Maggie Smith who will play Minerva McGonagall in the Harry Potter films.
After David Copperfield, he works on a Hollywood film, The Tailor of Panama. Then Jamie Lee Curtis who played his mother in the film has a book about a young wizard, Harry Potter! She think Dan is the right actor for Harry.
David Heyman wants to make a film of Harry Potter but he cannot find Harry Potter. He wants a new face, not famous actor, and a British child. One night he and Kloves who is a writer go to a play in London and then Dan's family is behind them. Kloves knows Dan's father so he talkes about the film. After that, Dan has an audition for the part of Harry. He is very nervous but he can be Harry! J. K. Rowling who writes Harry Potter is happy to watch his acting. Dan reads her books again and he can understand Harry very well.
For Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, the film of Harry Potter is first job. Dan is very nervous again but there are many young actor. Dan and Rupert are eleven and Emma is ten so the three children are quickly good friends!

I think you already know about Harry Potter, so I write Dan's now and future.
In 2006, he starts to try new work. He makes a film in Australia, December Boys, about four boys on holiday near the sea. He plays 'Daniel Radcliffe' in Extras, a television series. He plays the son of the writer Rudyard Kipling in My Boy Jack, a TV film.
In 2007, Dan goes back to the London stage again. He plays the teenager Alan Strang in Peter Schaffer's Equus. Richard Griffiths who plays Vernon Dursley in the Harry Potter films is in the play, too.

What work is Dan going to do after Harry Potter? This young actor likes to try new parts.
Perhaps he isn't going to be an actor. 'I love English, reading and writing,' Dan says. Is he going to be a writer? He loves watching films; perhaps he is going to be a director. He likes playing music; perhaps he is going to do that.

I was surprised that he made a film and I visited Australia in 2006 so I might have seen him:O I like reading and writing in English so I want to translate his book if he will be a writer.

If you like Harry Potter or Daniel Radcliffe, you must read this book! You can see many photos and know many things about Dan:D

☆Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

We watched Adventures of Huckleberry Finn on DVD on ALH class. I wrote a reprt about Huck's popularity.

By the way, this work's correct title is Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, not The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. One reason is that the story of Huck and Tom are separate stories, in other words, Huck's story is not sequel to Tom's story. Another reason is that Tom's story is for children but Huck's story is for adult.

This movie is about Huck's adventure with Jim who was black slave.

Huck live in Mrs. Douglas's house but he doesn't like new clothes and going to school. He likes to meet Jim and his family living Mrs. Douglas's house.

Huck's father is alive but he doesn't live with Huck. He is a terrible person so Huck is always afraid of him. One day, he wants his wife's inheritance having Huck so he try to kill Huck. Huck made his body by using carcass and runs away.

He arrives an island and Jim is there, too. Jim heard that he will be sold so he went out of Mrs. Douglas's house. When Huck meets Jim, he tells Huck that Huck's father is looking for murderer of Huck. Huck find a poster and it says Jim is wanted for murder Huck. They decided to go down the Mississippi to be free.

They meet some kinds of people. Jim watched Huck's father was dead in the ship when he get it on to find some foods with Huck. Huck doesn't know that but Jim doesn't tell that.

One day, they see two strange men. Suddenly, they rides on Huck and Jim's boat. They are swindlers and they pretend a English brothers to get big inheritance of the man whom they don't know well. They know that Jim is wanted so they obey Jim and Huck to follow their direction.

When they arrives the dead man's house, the people in there are not doubtful them. However, another brothers appear with a dead man's friend. Then, Huck tells the dead man's oldest daughter that the brother with Huck are swindlers and Huck takes the inheritance in the dead man's coffin.

The last scene impressed me a lot.

The swindlers are executed by the people in the house except the oldest daughter. They also try to kill Jim and Huck so Huck is shot by gun. Jim try to help Huck but Jim is arrested by them. Huck shouts "don't execute Jim" then the oldest daughter arrives there and she shouts "help the child (Huck) and the man (Jim)!"

Huck was injured badly but he recovers now! Mrs. Douglas cames and she is very happy to meet Huck again!! Jim is free now because his owner was dead!!! Everyone are happy at the last!!!!

I coudn't describe all good scene of it, so it's better for you to watch it once, if you've never watched:) Do you know who plays Huck? He is Elijah Wood!! I think he is very cute, isn't he?

★The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

I read The Adventures of Tom Sawyer written by Mark Twain. We learned about Mark Twain and we watched Adventures of Huckleberry Finn on DVD on ALH class. I will write about the movie later.
Mark Twain's real name was Samuel Clemens and he loved adventures. His famous stories were Tom's adventures and Huck's adventures.
Huck was Tom's friend so he appeared this book many times. There were 6 adventures in it. I'm going to explain about them!

Tom's first adventure in this book was in the Graveyard. Huck invited him and they went to there at twelve o'clock. Then, three men--the doctor, Muff Potter, and Injun Joe came, so the boys hid behind some big trees.

Injun Joe and the doctor talked angrily. Then Injun Joe killed the doctor with a knife. Tom and Huck watched.

The boys decided that they never talked about the night because they were afraid of Injun Joe. However some men were doubtful of Muff Potter as a murderer. The boys felt sorry for him so Tom testified his innocence at the trial.

Second adventure was at the river. He invited Joe Harper who was sad the day because his mother was angry. Tom was sad, too, because he was turned down by Becky. The boys went across the river in the small boat with Huck. They decided staying there for a long time but they were recognized that they were dead by the men who looked for them. The boys were very sad so they went to church on Sunday.

Sunday morning, many children were at church. They talked about the three
boys. They were sad because their friends were dead. Becky was sad, too.
Suddenly, the three boys walked into the church. People were very
surprised, but they were very happy, too.

Third adventure was at the old house near Mrs. Douglas's house. He wanted to look for treasure with Huck. When they went into the bed room in the house, Injun Joe and his friend came into the kitchen. They found a big box under the floor. There was a lot of money in the box. They went to take the box to the place under the cross. The boys listened to that but they thought that Injun Joe wanted to kill them so they went home quickly.

Fourth adventure was Becky's adventure. Tom could join because he helped her before so he made up with her. The children went to the river on a big boat. They played and played there and they ecept Becky and Tom went home. They couldn't find the exit in the cave so they coudn't go out of there for three days. Becky didn't want to walk so Tom tried to find the exit hard and he did! When they went home, Becky's father thanked Tom very much.

Fifth adventure was Huck's adventure. He didn't join Becky's adventure and he watched Injun Joe's house that night. Injun Joe and his friend had the treasure box and they walked to Mrs. Douglas's house yard. Huck stayed behind some small trees and listened to them. Huck knew that they wanted to kill Mrs. Douglas so he started to run to Mr. Jones's house to help her. They could help her and Mrs. Douglas thanked Huck very much.

Final adventure was in the cave again. Tom invited Huck because Tom listened that Injun Joe talked about his treasure when he was there with Becky. He and some men watched Injun joe was dead there, too, so the cave was safe now! The boys found the treasure box under the cross mark. There was $12,000 in the box!!


It was very exciting story. You may want to go on your adventure after you read this book.
Huck was in Mrs. Douglas's house now and another story started since then!

☆KFC★

Today, I took TOEFL ITP test after classes. It was second time for me that I took it. It started at 19:00 and finished at 21:00. I came home about 22:00 and I was very hungry.

There are some Kentucky Fried Chickens in my house!! I was happy and it was good:D

My mother bought some chickens, potatoes, Colonel crispy chickens and Habanero Chilli Boneless. Do you know how hot habanero chilli is? I tried it on but it became very hot gradually:8 I feel thirsty and inside of my mouth was as if I smoked, though I've never smoked. If you want to try it on, please be careful!!

I like Colonel crispy chicken the best, because it is boneless so it is easy to eat:9
