My Favorite shoes

I like putting and watching many kinds of shoes. I have a lot of shoes, for example, sneakers, pumps, sandals, and boots. My favorite shoes in spring and autumn are pumps, because I think pumps is just good these seasons which are not too hot and not too cold. My favorite shoes in summer are sandal, because it easy to put on and I can put on it without socks. My favorite shoes in winter are boots, because it can warm my legs. My favorite shoes on a rainy day are rubber boots, because it can protect my legs against rain. I like collecting shoes too but I cannot put on shoes with high heels so I watch them only in shoe store then. I want more shoes and I want to put on different shoes everyday.

POST OFFICE

I went to a Post Office in UEKI in order to work. My part time job is distributing New Year's cards. Yesterday is my first working time. It was from 10:00 to 15:45. I worked with 2 women, one is older student at KGU but her department is SHAKAI-FUKUSHI, another one is as young as me and she goes to a school to learn business. We become friend soon, and we talked a lot of things on free time and after working. To be surprise, our birthday are same month and very close, and we all like ONE PIECE!!!!! I didn't expect having some friends, but I was very happy to become friends them:) We cannot talk during work, of course, but I'm looking forward next working time with them;)

Creatures of Harry Potter

There are many kinds of creatures in Harry Potter. Animals like cats, owls, mice are owned by wizards. For example, Harry has a owl, Ron has a rat, and Hermione has a cat. Harry's owl, Hedwig has beautiful white wings and he is very clever. Ron's rat, Scabbers is actually a person, Peter Pettigrew who is one of Death Eaters. Hermione's cat, Crookshanks is very very clever like his owner. There are also magical creatures, for example, dragons, ghosts, centaurs, giants, goblins, and so on. My favorite magical creature is phoenix named Fawkes which is a pet of Dumbledore. He never die, because he is born again as a young bird from ash if he become very old and burn himself. I know Dobby is most famous magical creatures and he appeared Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows so you should check it out!

STRONG WORLD

I watched a movie named ONE PIECE FILM STRONG WORLD on TV last Saturday. How exciting the movie is! It was released last year and I watched it soon so I've watched it twice. It all created by Eiichiro Oda who is author of ONE PIECE. There are many strong animals and they fight and fight in an island. One day, Luffy's pirates arrived there and they fight them and Shiki who is a bad captain in the island, because he kidnapped Nami who is a mate of Luffy's pirates. The guest dubbers are Aiko Kaitou who is an anchor, Kousuke Kitajima who is a swimmer, and Naoto Takenaka who is a Japanese actor, and he dubbed Shiki. I think it can enjoy watching if you don't know ONE PIECE, so please watch once;)

My Favorite clothing

My favorite clothing is skirt because it is easy to wear and to match other clothes. First, I like to wear a miniskirt with T-shirt and leggings in spring and with tights or jeans in winter. Second, I also like one-piece dress because it is also easy to wear. I wear it with vest in summer and with jacket or cardigan in autumn. Third, I like wearing hats or caps because it is useful to cut sunbeam in summer and to warm in winter. My favorite fashion brand is “earth music & ecology” but I cannot buy many clothes there because its price is a little expensive for me. I like “honey club” to buy clothes because its price is less expensive. I think it is the best that buying good clothes at a inexpensive price!

The ROOTLESS

Today, I will write about The ROOTLESS which is one of my favorite artists recently. The ROOTLESS is a Japanese rock band. The members are Shin Nohata who is a vocal and plays the guitar, Duran Naitoh who plays the guitar, Takuya Ihara who plays the bass, and Yusuke Ohtsubo who plays the drums. I think you know One day which is a song of them, if you like watching ONE PIECE on TV animation. I wrote about One day before, so I should write other things about them. I read their blog sometimes, and it is very interesting. I really recommend their music, so please listen to their songs or read their blog once:)

My Favorite color

I like a lot of color and I cannot choose only one color so I'll write about my favorite useful colors. First, I like wearing violet clothes. For example, I have violet beret, T-shirt, dress, and gloves. Second, I like having pink goods, for example, I have pink cell phone, pen, pass case, bag, purse, and so on. Off course, I liked KGU's diary in 2009 because it was pink! Third, I liked making up my face with orange cosmetics. For example, I use orange cheek rouge and lipstick, because it is too cute using pink cosmetics. Finally, I like green and orange, because they are my favorite artists' symbol color. Green is GReeeeN's and orange is ORANGE RANGE's symbol colors! As you can see, I like pastel and rainbow colors.

Enchanted

I watched a movie titled Enchanted on TV last Friday. It is called Maho-ni-kakerarete in Japanese. It was interesting that the characters in the animation moved to real New York. I was surprised that Giselle cleaned a room with dirty animals like flies, sewer rats, and cockroachs. If you haven't watched it and you like Disney movies, you should watch it;)

★CERAMIC☆

I went to Tamana with 8 overseas students, 3 Japanese students, 2 teachers, and Mrs. Shioiri's son in order to experience ceramic on December 4th. We went to there by bus and it took about 2 hours. When I heared about this event from Mrs. Shioiri, she said "we will go to 八代(Yatsushiro)" so we wondered why the bus went to Tamana. Actually, we went to 小代焼一先窯(Syoudaiyaki-Issakigama) in Tamana so I think she may confuse "Yatsushiro" and "Syoudai". Mr. Yamaguchi, his wife, and his son taught us how to make teacup, mug, and dish from clay. I made a mug but it was too difficult for me. I couldn't take pictures because everyone's hand were attached a lot of clay. I think everyone made nice works from clay! I had a very good time and I'm looking forward to receive my mug after baking in January;)

My Favorite dessert

My favorite dessert is cake, because I like sweet tastes very much!! I like shortcake with strawberry the best of cake shops. However, I cannot eat Mont Blanc because I don't like chestnut's flavor. I also like homemade sweets, for example, cookies, muffins, puddings, chiffon cake, and so on. My mother is really good at baking chiffon cake! She made it twice a last week and I helped to make it. It was very nice so I want to make it alone someday! By the way, I can make some sweets, though I'm not good at cooking dishes. I bake cookies sometimes especially I bake it on Valentine Day or White Day to give it for my friends. As you can read, I like sweets and I also like to make it!!

KAIJI

I watched a movie named KAIJI on TV several weeks ago. It was about some games like gambles. People who have much debts can take part in the games. If the players fault, death or hard work wait for them. Main characters are Kaiji Ito played by Tatsuya Fujiwara, one of the debt collectors played by Yuuki Amami, one of the organizers of the games played by Teruyuki Kagawa, and one of the players played by Kenichi Matsuyama. Kaiji challenged 3 games and he won the final game, but his prize money are cheated in the end. The story is continuing and the sequel will release next year.

My Favorite flower

I think almost girls or women like flower. Of course I like many kinds of flower, for example, cherry blossom, rose, lily, sunflower, cosmos, and so on. Though I like flowers which are sold at a florist, I like wildflowers better. For example, I love violet, dandelion, Michaelmas daisy which is called SHION in Japanese, and so on. When I find a flower, I take a picture. I took some pictures yesterday, because I went to Takachiho-kyo with my family. I could take pictures of camellia and some wildflowers. I didn't know the name of the wildflowers, so I want to search it. As you can see one of my topics named “My Favorite season”, many wildflowers bloom in Spring. I'm looking forward to coming next Spring from now on!!

My brother's birthday

November 21st was my brother's birthday. He became 12 years old and he wanted to go to somewhere so my father decided to go to Takachiho-kyo. It is in Miyazaki prefecture, but near to Aso, so we had to wake up early. There are beautiful deep blue river and some people were canoeing. There are also beautiful mountain with colored leaves so we took many pictures with it. It was warm day so we had a very good time there!! When we went back home, we ate cake and I gave him a present. It was a jigsaw puzzle of ONE PIECE, because he likes the characters of ONE PIECE. He was pleased so I was happy, too!!

My Favorite class

My favorite class is American Literary History. We watched many DVDs of American Literary in the class, for example, The Last of The Mohicans, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Great Gatsby, and so on. We watched whole of that's three DVDs, because we must write report about them. I chose Huck Finn in spring semester and we had to write about Gatsby in autumn semester. Teacher tells us interesting information about authors, literary, or movies sometimes. By the way, I like American Literary so I read some books when I find interesting one. I wrote about it in my blog's book reviews before. For example, I read Little Women, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, The House of the Seven Gables, and so on. If you don't understand a literary in class, I recommend that you should read the book about it!

ZOO KEEPER

In Zookeeper, the animals at the Franklin Park Zoo love their kindhearted caretaker, Griffin Keyes (Kevin James).

The animals, in a panic, decide to break their time-honored code of silence and reveal their biggest secret: they can talk!

ZOO KEEPER is really interesting, and I think it looks like Night Museum, because the animals can talk human words. Main casts in the movie are Kevin James, Rosario Dawson, and Leslie Bibb. Kavin plays Griffin Keyes who is a Zookeeper, and he decides to leave the zoo in order to get a girl! The animals in the zoo love him, so they are in a panic. ZOO KEEPER will be in theaters on July 8th, 2011. I'm looking forward to watching it in theater!! If you want more information of it, you can go to the website of ZOO KEEPER:)

Honey and Clover

I watched a DVD a few weeks ago. It was Honey and Clover, and it is called HACHIMITSU to KURO-BA- or HACHI-KURO in Japanese. Main characters are Hagu played by Yu Aoi, Takemoto by Sho Sakurai, Mayama by Ryo Kase, Ayu by Megumi Seki, and Morita by Yusuke Iseya. I like him recently, because he played Shinsaku Takasugi in Ryoma-Den which is a Japanese historical drama. Shinsaku Takasugi is one of my favorite Japanese historical people. By the way, HACHI-KURO is about love, especially, one-sided love. For example, Ayu loves Mayama, but he loves Rika who is his boss at an office and she is a widow, and Takemoto loves Hagu but she loves arts... However, Morita and Hagu may like each other. If you watch HACHI-KURO, you will feel love, I think:)

My Favorite animal

My favorite animal is cats. I don't have pets but 2 cats come to my house sometimes from the next house. One is a white cat, and the other one is a tortoise-shell cat called MIKE-NEKO in Japanese. I think there are many kinds of cat, but I like American Shorthair the best. I want to have the cat in the future so I try to take care of the next door's cats! They like dried bonito called KATSUO-BUSHI in Japanese, and dried small sardines called IRIKO or NIBOSHI in Japanese. When I hold them, they are very soft. However their long hair are attached my clothes or fall on the floor so I don't want to keep my cat in the room. In conclusion, I like cats and I want to have my cat someday.

Q10

I watch a drama every Saturday's night from October. The name of the drama is Q10, and it is called "cute", not "Q-ten". Main characters are Heita played by Takeru Satoh, and Q10 played by Atsuko Maeda. They are high school students, but Q10 is a robot. Their teacher played by Yuji Tanaka named Kyuto Karen to Q10. Main theme of the drama is youth of Heita, Q10, and their classmates who have problems about love, future, family, and so on. I think Q10's talking and moving are so funny. For example, Q10 called Waka-Danna to Heita because she likes listening to Japanese RAKUGO. I'm looking forward to watching next story!

Characters of Harry Potter

There are many characters in Harry Potter's series. For example, Hogwarts' students and teachers, other wizards, Muggles who are not wizards, and so on. Harry is only one people who arrive against Voldemort's magic. Lord Voldemort is a dark wizard and he killed Harry's parents, James and Lily Potter. Harry lives with the Dursleys who are Muggles and last relative to Harry's real parents. The Dursleys hate wizard and magical power so they hate Harry, too. Rubeus Hagrid who is one of teachers at Hogwarts took Harry to Hogwarts. As you can read, there are Harry's enemies like Voldemort and Harry's supporters like Hagrid in the wizarding world. My favorite character is Sirius Black. He is a godfather of Harry so he wanted to live with Harry but he couldn't. He killed by Bellatrix Lestrange who is one of the Death Eaters. Unfortunately, Harry's supporters gradually killed by the Death Eaters or Voldemort. There are many characters so you can find your favorite character certainly:)

Books of Harry Potter

I've read all series of Harry Potter in Japanese before. I respect Yuko Matsuoka who is a translator of this series. I think her translation is wonderful because she can translate English funny words, like slang, perfectly. For example, Fred and George Weasley who are Ron's older twin brothers' jokes and the terms in the wizarding world. After I read her translation, I got to like Harry Potter and I thought I want to be a translator! I have the book titled Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in English, but I haven't read it yet, because reading British English was difficult for me before. However, I think I can read it now, so I'll try to read again someday;) If you watched the movies only, I hope you to read the books in Japanese or in English once!!

Actors of Harry Potter

I've watched the movies of Harry Potter series before. I like actors in the movies. Harry Potter played by Daniel Radcliffe, Ron Weasley by Rupert Grint, and Hermione Granger by Emma Watson were very cute, because they were very young at Harry Potter and Philosopher's Stone which is the first story. They grow up along the story, of course, so they are cool now. Other actors, for example, playing teachers at Hogwarts are also nice. However, there was a sad thing about Albus Dumbledore who is the principal of Hogwarts. Richard Harris who played Dumbledore until Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets died in 2002, so Dumbledore is played by Michael Gambon from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. By the way, you can watch Harry, Ron, and Hermione's growth, if you watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows which is the last story released on November 19th in Japan!

My Favorite vacation memory

My favorite vacation memory is visiting Ohita with my family last summer. First day, we went to a large bridge named YUME-OH-TSURIHASHI. When we crossed it, it shook and it was wet a little because of a light rain, so I felt scary. After that, we went to YUFUIN and there were many shops to buy something, and there were many sightseeing places. Next day, we went to an aquarium named UMITAMAGO. There were many beautiful fishes, penguins, baby otters, a wooperlooper, and so on. I thought jellyfishes were very fascinated because they were illuminated beautifully. We could see dolphins’ show and it was excited. My father and my brother went to Mt. Takasaki during my mother and I went shopping. My brother said that there were many monkeys. We had very good time then!

☆YACHIOZA&KAGURA★

I took part in a class going to YACHIOZA and ASO shrine with overseas students. First, we went to YACHIOZA in Yamaga. YACHIOZA is a Japanese traditional theater and it passed 100 years after YACHIOZA was built. There are 2 HANAMICHIs which are roads to walk actors, some SUPPONs which are sets to appear special guests like ghosts, NINJAs, and so on. The big circle stage can move because 4 people turn it under the stage named NARAKU. We can see and learn about YACHIOZA very much, and then we went to YAMAGA LANTERN MUSEUM. Have you ever seen YAMAGA-TOUROU Festival? TOUROU is a Japanese traditional paper craft and it seems to be lantern. 1000 women putting TOUROU on their head dance in the festival. Second, we went to ASO shrine in Tatsuda. I thought ASO shrine is in Aso, but it is in Tatsuda! When we arrived there, it became very cold and we were hungry. We could eat DAGOJIRU and drink tea so we were happy!! KAGURA started at 18:30. KAGURA is one of Japanese traditional dance to pray something to god. We could see some kinds of KAGURA and we could get an arrow named MORIYA. It means it can guard us from any dangers. It was very very cold day, but I had a very very good time:)

My Favorite drink

My favorite drinks are coffee, tea, and green tea. First, I like coffee, but I don't like black coffee. When I drink a cup of coffee, I add some milk and sugar to it. I also like cafe au lait, mocha coffee, latte and so on. I recommend some frappucinos in Starbucks! Second, I like ice tea rather than hot tea. I recommend Lipton's tea, because they have many kinds of tea and they are cheap. In addition, I recommend KOUCHAKADEN's milk tea, because it is good both hot and ice. Finally, I like green tea the best. I drink it every meal because I feel refreshed like tooth brushing. I recommend KIRIN's NAMACHA because I like it the best of other green teas. If you haven't drunk my favorite teas, please try to drink once :)

"One day"

I bought a CD at TSUTAYA on October 21st. The title of the CD is One day played by The ROOTLESS which is a Japanese rock band. There are 3 songs in the CD. I like One day is the best. It is a rock ballad and it is an opening song of an animation. The name of the animation is ONE PIECE. The words of the song express the hearts of Luffy and Ace. I think Shin Nohata who is a vocal of The ROOTLESS has nice voice! Other 2 songs named REAL and SAYONARA NO MAE NI are also good! If you like ONE PIECE, please listen to One day once!! You can listen to it on the website of The ROOTLESS or you should watch the animation once;)

My Favorite dish

There are a lot of dishes I like. I will write about 3 dishes. First, I like an omelet containing fried rice. I recommend OMURAISU-TEI in youme town Hikarinomori because there are many kinds of it, and they are cheap. When I go to Hikarinomori, I ate one of them there. Of course, I like an OMURAISU made by my mother. Second, I like Italian dishes. For example, I like pasta and pizza. I recommend PRONTO and PISSORINO. I like peperoncino in PRONTO, and I like some pizzas in PISSORINO. You can eat pizzas and pastas as much as you want in PISSORINO but their each size are very big. Finally, I like curry rice and I can cook it. I like eating it with something. I recommend soft-boiled egg or cheese on it. If you eat it with cheese, you should bake it a little. I will be hungry because I wrote about my favorite dishes!!

Introduction of My Project

This site is about Harry Potter. Do you know Harry Potter? It is a story about Harry who is a wizard. Harry goes to a school named Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. His best friends are Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. I like the books and movies. The books written by J. K. Rowling who is a British woman. There are 7 stories about adventures of Harry, Ron, and Hermione. My favorite story is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban which is the third story. The prisoner named Sirius Black is one of best friends of Harry's father and he is godfather of Harry. Actually, he didn't bad thing so Harry, Ron, and Hermione take him away from Azkaban. Harry become happy because he has no parents and he is lonely until he met him. Other stories also good, so please read the books or watched the movies if you haven't known Harry Potter.

October 15th

I took part in Welcome Party in Kumamoto University on October 15th. There were many overseas students and Japanese students from universities in Kumamoto. First, we found a partner who don't know each other and then we talked about ourselves. We repeated that twice and my partners were Philippine and Myanmarese. After that we started to eat dishes, drink juices and talk more. I could talk to Sri Lankan, Chinese, French, German and so on. There were no dishes during I was talking to them so I ate snacks and drank juices. I had a good time but I couldn't eat enough:( When I waited for bus after the party, 2 Sri Lankan came and we took on same bus. They don't know the name of bus stop so I told them. It was To-ri chou suji.

★The Canterbury Tales

I read The Canterbury Tales written by Geoffrey Chaucer. There are 7 tales in this book. I doesn't take English Literary History class but I know the title and the author's name because I learned about them in World History class at high school.

A group of pilgrims are travelling together for five days from London to Canterbury. On the way, each pilgrim has to tell a story. Some stories are happy, and some are sad. But they all have a message, and we can learn from them.

The Knight's Tale named Palamon and Arcite is about love and friendship, and it is a stirring story. The Clerk's Tale named Patient Griselda is about love, and it is a happy ending story. The Wife of Bath's Tale named What do women want most? is about a knight and it is a very interesting story. The Pardoner's Tale named Three Men Look for Death is a strange story. The Franklin's Tale named Three Promises about love and magic, and it is a heart warming story. The Friar's Tale named The Summoner and the Devil is a moral story. The Nun's Priest's Tale named Chaunticleer and the Fox is about a cock, hens and a fox, and the cock is very wise.

There are kings, knights, lords, great wife, couples, magics, bad men, good husband, animals, and so on in each tales. I learned many things from their good things and bad things. I like a book which has many short stories like this book. I think some of these tales give you wide views!!

My Favorite travel

I like to travel somewhere and I've been to many places in Japan. However, my favorite travel is visiting Australia!! I went to Australia on my school trip when I was 15 years old. I stayed at my host family and they are Chinese. I wrote about them before, so I will write about sightseeing there. First, we went to the university named Edith Cowan University in Perth for 3 weeks. Second, we learned about wild animals and we went to a wildlife park. I saw many kinds of wild animals and I could touch koalas, kangaroos, and wombats. Third, we went to downtown to go shopping. After that, we went to a lake near to ECU and I saw some black swans there. Finally, we went to a desert named Pinnacles in the last weekend. There were funny shape rocks and I took many pictures there. I also went to many places in Perth and I had a very, very, very good time!!!

☆Tales from Hans Andersen

I read Tales from Hans Andersen. I wrote about The Ugly Duckling which is one of the stories from the book. I know some of the stories already. For example, The Little Mermaid as Ningyo-Hime, The Emperor's New Clothes as Hadaka-no-Ousama, and Thumbelina as Oyayubi-Hime in Japanese. However, I didn't know the story named The Nightingale. I think almost of you know that stories so I will write about The Nightingale.

There was a King in a beautiful palace. A nightingale lived in a tree in a big garden in the palace. It sang beautifully. The king didn't know about the bird so his servant brought it to him. He got to like the bird very much but it didn't want to live with him. One day, his servant brought the king other nightingale made of wood. It sang everyday for the king but it sang only one same song. Long time passed, the king became old and he was sick. He remembered the bird and he wanted to hear its beautiful song. Then, the nightingale flew toward him and sang very beautiful song. The king was very happy and he became fine again in the end.

I think this story is about good friendship between the king and the nightingale. He doesn't force the bird to stay with him. The bird can say the opinion clearly to king.

According to other stories, I think there are many beautiful princesses and princes in the stories, and I like them!! I also like the animals in the stories because they can talk to people!!

I want to read other stories in English that I already know in Japanese!!!

My Favorite elementary school memories

I had lived in Hokkaido until I was 7 years old. My favorite elementary school memory is the day when I left Hokkaido.
First, my homeroom teacher and classmates hold a farewell party for me. I remember that we had a good time. For example, we sang a song, ate some snacks, and played some games.
Second, they came to my house to give me a sendoff. I cried and some friends also cried then. I like and remember them until now!
Finally, I had 4 best friends in other elementary schools but they came to see me at the station. I was very happy to see them but I felt sad too.
After I moved Kumamoto, I met my best friends twice. I visited Hokkaido alone to see them once and one of my best friends visited Kumamoto alone to see me once. Those are also my favorite elementary school memories!!

My Favorite season

My favorite season is spring, because many things start in spring.
First, many beautiful flowers start to come out. I like cherries, dandelions, pansies, and so on.
Second, the new term starts in school. I meet old friends after the spring vacation and I can make new friends in April.
Third, the climate starts to warm. I like cold sunny days, because I feel bad and I should worry about sunburn on hot sunny days. I think that cold sunny days in spring are better than hot days in summer or cold days in winter. However the climate in autumn likes that in spring. I also like cold sunny days in autumn but it starts to cool. I don't like cool days in winter. I like summer better than winter so I like spring better than autumn.
In conclusion, I like spring the best and then I like autumn, summer, and winter in this order.

October 2nd

I went to down town to have lunch with Asami, Miki, Shiori, and Yukimi on October 2nd. They waited for me at PARCO because I was late. when I arrived there, Miki took us to a restaurant. I had been to Karaoke next to the restaurant. I ate an omelet containing fried rice and we can have salad, drink and soup as much as we like for 840 yen! They were very, very, very nice!!!!! I want to come again with someone. After eating, we went shopping at PARCO and NEW-S. There were many clothes I want, but I didn't have much money to buy. I said good-bye to my friends at NEW-S and I went to my grandmother's house. I had a very good time:)

★The Ugly Duckling

I read Tales from Hans Andersen retold by Karen Holmes. There are 5 stories in this book so I read one of those stories named The Ugly Duckling. I know this story because I had read it in Japanese before.


A duck sat on her eggs for a long time. Almost eggs opened and ducklings came out. But the largest one opened later and very big and ugly duckling came out.
Ducks except his mom and hens were unkind to him so he was very unhappy.

'They don't like me because I'm ugly,' he thought.

His mom found he was clever and he swam very well, so she took him away sadly.
Many wild geese were kind to him but some geese were killed by men with guns. He was afraid and he run away. One day he watched beautiful birds flying near him. They were swans and he loved them.
After the winter, he became bigger and he could fly high in the sky. When he watched swans again, he tried to talk to them.

'Kill me,' said the poor duckling. He put his head down near the water, and he saw... What did he see in the water? He saw a swan! He was not a fat, ugly duckling, he was a swan! He was born from a swan's egg!

Little children gave him some bread and said 'he's the most beautiful swan in the world!' He was very happy and he thought 'I'm the happiest swan in the world!'


I learned it is important not to give up anything. The ugly duckling wanted to die but he didn't so he became beautiful swan.
If his family and all animals hating him know that he is a beautiful swan, what do they think? I think they should said sorry to him! We shouldn't judge a person by his appearance!!

★SUNTORY☆

I took part in a class going to SUNTORY Kyushu Kumamoto Plant with overseas students. There are 6 Japanese students including me as assistants. Four people are from Eibei and two are from Higashi Asia. We study teaching Japanese to foreigners.

We went to the plant by bus. I sat on next to Canadian student so we talked about Canada, Saint Marys University, Japanese culture, foods, and so on:)
When we arrived the plant, we had a shopping time. There were a lot of goods in the shop near to entrance of the plant. For example, there were many kinds of glass, goods of character of drink, beer, other alcohol drinks and so on.
Then we started to watch the plant. We learned that barley, hop, and water are important to make beer. We ate barley and we smelled flavor of hop. Someone said barley was sweet taste but I didn't think so. I thought it was not good taste:(
We have a tasting time in the end. I couldn't drink beer so I drink a glass of orange juice named "natchan!".

We had a good time!!!!! I want to take part in the class again;) I will go to YACHIO-ZA next time.

☆The Girl at the Window

I read "The Girl at the Window" written by Antoinette Moses.

I think the story is sad for Grace but it is happy for Sue and Sammy.

Grace's baby was taken in 1815 and her boyfriend, Tommy didn't come back from war.

In 2001, she is a picture now, but she is waiting for Tommy and their baby, Mary for a very long time.

Sue and Sammy come to Grace's house in 2001. Grace gets to like Sammy because she is a beautiful baby girl like Mary. Sammy also likes Grace because she can hear Grace's voice. Sue and Grace don't like each other so Sue takes Sammy to her room.

One day, there is a fire in the house. Sammy is in Grace's room so Sue can't help her. However, Grace helps Sammy and Sue is helped by firemen. In the end, the house is destroyed by a fire but Grace can meet Tommy and Mary again.

I don't know why Mary was taken but it is too sad for Grace. I know her mind that she is waiting for Mary but I don't think it is good to take Sammy from Sue. I think Tommy died in the war and Mary died before 2001 so Grace meets them in heaven. Sue injures a little because of the fire but Sammy is fine and doesn't injure. So I think it is a happy ending story and I like it:)

ROOKIES

Did you watched ROOKIES on TV last night? I love ROOKIES and I had watched it 4 times. I watched it twice at theaters, once on DVD, and once on TV yesterday. It is about baseball played by high school students. The movie is an adaptation of popular comics among Japanese young men. Ryuta Satoh is one of fans of the comics. He wanted to play Mr. Kawatoh who is players' teacher and coach, and his dream came true! Other main characters are Aniya played by Hayato Ichihara, Mikoshiba played by Keisuke Koide, Wakana played by Sousuke Takaoka, Shinjoh played by Yu Shirota and so on. I like music used in the movie because it played by GReeeeN who is one of my favorite artists. If you havn't watched it, please watch it once:)

☆WELCOME PARTY★

Today, I took part in Welcome Party at a dormitory of overseas students of KGU. I joined it second time because I had joined it in spring. Last time, I talked to Korean and Vietnamese students only, so I wanted to talk to more students from other countries this time.

When I arrived there, I met some friends and the party started about 12:30 p.m. I talked to some older and younger classmates and we became friends. I could eat very nice foods and I could make new friends from China, Canada, Korea, Thailand, UK, and USA!!!!! They could speak Japanese well so I almost talk to them in Japanese.

I had a very good time and I want to visit there again:) I also want to go to English lounge at KGU to talk to them in English!!

★HUIS TEN BOSCH☆

I went to HUIS TEN BOSCH in Sasebo, Nagasaki on September 23th. I took part in a tour by bus with my mother and brother.

First, we dropped in IZUMI-YA to buy castella. I bought a chocolate castella called "NAGASAKI-SYOKORAATO", because it was good when I tried it.

After that, we arrived at HUIS TEN BOSCH soon. It was about 11:00 a.m. so we went to eat lunch at first. We rode on a cruiser called "Canal Cruiser" to restaurants area called "Utrecht". We entered a Italian pizza and pasta restaurant called "Pinoccio" and I ate a pizza and a pasta. They were very delicious so I was happy:)

Then we walked to RYOMADEN-KAN which is a museum about Ryoma Sakamoto and a historical drama about him called "RYOMA-DEN". I couldn't take pictures but there were many exhibitions fascinated me! For example, Ryoma and Yataro Iwasaki's swords, a picture drawn by Syouryu Kawata, and Ryo Narazaki, Kao Hirai, and Omoto's kimono and they were all used in "RYOMA-DEN"!! There was a ship called "Kanko-maru" outside of RYOMADEN-KAN, and it was used as KUROFUNE in many historical drama including "SHINSENGUMI!".

After visiting RYOMADEN-KAN, my brother and I went to ONE PIECE MEMORIAL LOG. I had been looking forward to visiting RYOMADEN-KAN and ONE PIECE MEMORIAL LOG!!!!! There were many characters' goods to be them and take picture with their WANTED picture. For example, Luffy's straw hat, Zoro's three swords, Nami's thunder stick, Sogeking's mask, Sanji's cooking knife, Chopper's horns and hat, Brook's hair and hat, Robin's stone tablet and Franky's coke. There are many characters and sets catching some situation of animation or comics besides. I was happy to see Ace who is Luffy's brother, because I like him the best of all characters in ONE PIECE!! After visiting there, we went to a shop called "GROUND-LINE" to buy some goods. My brother bought a Luffy's goods and I bought a snack with a bonus. The bonus is a character's coin and there are 10 kinds. 1 coin is packaged each box at random but I got Ace's coin!!!!!

Then, we rode a bicycle and we went cycling for an hour. I haven't ridden bicycle for a long time but it was exciting:) I dropped in an icecream shop and I bought a Nami's orange sherbet! It was very nice:9

Finally, we run and run to exit after we returned the bicycle, because it was too far from bicycle's rental shop to exit and time limit was coming soon. I was very tired so I slept in a bus.

It was cool day but it wasn't rain so we had a wonderful time at HUIS TEN BOSCH. If you haven't visited there, you should go;) If you want to go to ONE PIECE MEMORIAL LOG, you should go soon because this event finished on October 17th. I really want to go there again:D

My Favorite clubs / circle

I love music, and I write this words second time. I wrote about listening to music before, but I write about playing music this time! I belonged to the brass band club for 5 years. I could play the soprano (B-flat) clarinet, the E-flat clarinet which is smaller than the soprano (B-flat) clarinet, and the alto sax. The soprano (B-flat) clarinet is common clarinet, but E-flat clarinet is a little difficult to play. The alto sax is easy to play for me, but I didn't play the sax in high school. I like the clarinet better than the sax, because the clarinet is lighter to have than the sax. In junior high school, I played a solo in a competition. I played a tune named "AIRS" on the alto sax then. In high school, I played an E-flat clarinet solo in a concert. It was very short part but I was very nervous. I played many tunes and I met wonderful friends in the brass band club!!

My Favorite TV / Movie star

There are many actors I like. I'm interested in Japanese young actors especially, for example, I like Takeru Satoh, Kohji Seto, Teppei Koike, and so on. Takeru will appear "BECK" which will release on September 4th, and Hiro Mizushima, Osamu Mukai, Kenta Kiritani, Aoi Nakamura and Shioli Kutsuna appear it, too. I want to watch it soon! He also appears many CMs and dramas, for example, he appears a CM of "Fit's" which is a gum, and he played Izoh Okada in "The Legend of Ryoma" which is a historical drama. He is good at dancing and I think he can play any parts!!
I also like foreign actors, for example, Daniel Radcliffe, Elijah Wood, Johnny Depp, and so on. I like "Harry Potter" series and "Pirates of the Caribbean" series. I also like "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and "Alice in Wonderland". Johnny plays any parts using special makeup.

My Favorite music

I love Japanese pops. For example, I like ORANGE RANGE, GReeeeN, Aqua Timez, ayaka, YUI, and so on. I wrote about GReeeeN before at this blog, so I will write about ORANGE RANGE. There are 5 members who are HIROKI, RYO, YAMATO, YOH and NAOTO. HIROKI, RYO, and YAMATO are vocals, YOH plays bass, and NAOTO plays guitar and he is leader. There was a drummer named KATCHAN before but he left ORANGE RANGE and he made a new band named KCB. They are from Okinawa, and they write and compose songs on their own. My favorite song is "KIZUNA" or "HANA". I like their ballad the best. By the way, I also recommend some albums, for example, "SIO, KOSHOU" by GReeeeN, "MUSIQ" and "NATURAL" by ORANGE RANGE. Best albums by Aqua Timez, ayaka, and YUI are good, too. If you never listened to their music, please listen!!

My Favorite TV show

My favorite TV show is variety programs. I like "THE RED THEATER" the best. THere are 15 comedians, 1 mc, and some guests in the program. Comedians are HANNYA, Kanako Yanagihara, SHIZURU, JARUJARU, ROTCHI, FRUITSPONCH, WAGAYA, and Eiko Kano. Mc is Teruyoshi Uchimura who is a member of a comedian group called UTCHAN NANCHAN and he joins some comic skits sometimes. My favorite comic skits are 'Reiko', 'Josephine', and 'Kiyomi and Mr. Kawaguchi'. Reiko is Kenji Murakami who is a member of FRUITSPONCH. Satoshi Kanada who is a member of HANNYA is Josephine and Akiyoshi Kawashima who is another member is HANNYA, JARUJARU, and SHIZURU join in this comic skit. Kiyomi is Kazuma Ikeda who is a member of SHIZURU and Mr. Kawaguchi is Jun Murakami who is another member of SHIZURU. When I feel tired or angry, I watch this program, because I become happy or good. I think laughing is the best if I feel tired or angry. Please watch "THE RED THEATER" once, then you may find this program is so interesting!!

My Favorite junior high memory

My favorite junior high memory is school trip in Osaka, Nara, and Kyoto when I was 14 years old. We visited an aquarium named Kaiyu-kan in Osaka on the first day. We saw many fishes and sea animals there. Second day, we visited many temples and shrines, for example, Kinkaku temple, Ginkaku temple, Yasaka shrine, and Kiyomizu temple. We made a group and planed this visiting. In Nara, we visited Horyuji and watched a huge statue of Buddha in Todadiji. My favorite place is Kyoto because I liked a historical drama named "SHINSENGUMI!" at the time and there are many places used in the drama. Kiyomizu temple was very beautiful because of colored leaves. I will write about SHINSENGUMI someday and I hope you to visit Kyoto in autumn!

★Three Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

I read Three Adventures of Sherlock Holmes written by Conan Doyle.

There are 3 stories in the book: "The Speckled Band", "The Five Orange Pips" and "The Crown of Diamonds" and these are told by Dr Watson who is Holmes's only friend.

In 'The Speckled Band', Holmes's visitor is a very frightened young woman. Two years earlier, and only two weeks before her marriage, the young woman's twin sister died suddenly and mysteriously. Her last words were: 'It was the band! The speckled band!' Now Holmes's visitor also plans to marry, and strangely similar events are happening in her home. Will Sherlok Holmes be able to solve the puzzle in time to save her life?

He could solve the puzzle, of course, but I know it is stupid that I write ending of the case because it is one of the mystery stories. If you want to know why did the young woman's twin sister die? or what is the speckled band?, I give you some hints. The dead woman often hear the low whistle in the midnight before she dead, there are strange ventilator and bell rope in her bedroom, a large iron box in her stepfather's room, and her stepfather has a violent temper but he likes Indian animals... Please guess or read to know the fact;)

In the second story, five orange pips, the seeds of the fruit, are sent to John Openshaw's uncle. Soon, the old man is dead. Then pips are sent to other members of the family. Who are they from? What do they mean? And will deaths continue?

It's ending was so sad and the criminals were really terrible. I write a little about the criminals. Five orange pips were sent from the letter "K" was written three times. Do you know it's meaning? When I read it, I understand it because I learned it on ALH class. However, Holmes, Dr Watson and John are British so they couldn't know the meaning. "K.K.K." means a secret society in America. Though I write the criminals, please read the story if you want to know the meaning of five orange pips and the ending of this case.

Holmes's visitor to Baker Street in the third story is a very successful banker. Diamonds have been stolen from him, and to his horror he believes that he knows the thief. But is he right? The banker hopes that Holmes can disprove his worst fears.

This is the longest story in this book. There are 2 parts: The Banker's Problem and The Detective's Solution. This is the case of thief, not murder, so I recommend it the best though it is long story. I felt the banker's family's love after I read this story. Holmes solved the case using footprints around the banker's house as a clue. It was interesting that there were many peoples' footprints. If you want to read this book, please read this story at first!



I like mystery novels but I haven't read these in English. I know only Sherlock Holmes's name so I wanted to read this book. In this way, I chose this book!

I think Holmes is very famous person as a clever detective. Do you know him? If you don't know him, I hope you to read a book about his adventures or watch the movie about him! I want to watch it, too:)

☆A City★

Miki and Emi are going to write about our imaginary city. It’s near to somewhere in beautiful ocean in Japan. The city is called “Town in the sea”. We have three points about the city. Point 1 is about the seaside house. Point 2 is about food in the city. Final point is about riding the dolphins.

First, we’re going to explain point 1: The seaside house. The seaside house is one of the most popular places in the city. However it only opens during summer. Its name is “Ta-dah!” because it has many surprise events and especially the master give you a special present on your birthday! The surprises make everyone happy! The worker in “Ta-dah!” lend you something to play in the sea. For example, they have float rings, surfboards, and beach balls. If you feel low, please come to “Ta-dah!” You will be happy!

Now, we’re going to explain point 2: Food in the city. You can eat good food in “Ta-dah!”. For example, Yakisoba! This yakisoba is strongly seasoned. It’s popular among young people who visit the city. Also, you can eat Okonomiyaki, too! It tastes good. It’s popular with family who come to play in the sea. In addition, there is ramen, too. It’s Tonkotsu ramen. It’s made by a master of ramen. So it tastes fantastic! You will want a second helping. Finally, dessert! There are special shaved ices! We can taste several kinds of shaved ices, there are strawberry taste, bluehawaii taste, melon taste, lemon taste, cola taste and any tastes you want. Also, it is a rest station for visitors. Usually, the master turn on an electric fan in there, but there is not an air conditioner. If you still feel hot, you can use a fan or eat a special shaved ices!

Third, we’re going to explain point 3: Riding the dolphins. You can ride a dolphin’s back there! There are always some trainers of dolphins in “Ta-dah!”. They hold “dolphins’ show” in August so many people visit there to see it because many people spend theirs summer vacation in August. If you want to ride a dolphin, you have to talk to the trainers. They may allow you to ride a dolphin easily! The dolphins are very vigorous so be careful a little of that. You may have a great time if you come to “Ta-dah!” in your summer vacation!!!

In conclusion, a lot of young people, family, friends and couples visit “Town in the sea” every summer. It is a lively place! That why, the town has special points as stated above. It became famous among everyone, so everyone will visit “Town in the sea” this summer, too! Do you have a good time in “Town in the sea” this summer?
